Okosozukin
One of the hoods used in cold weather during the Edo period was okosozukin. The popular one among women was made of purple or black chirimen (crepe), and some rapped towels around their neck on top of okosozukin. Other anti-chill outfits included hanten (short coat), tanzen (thickly padded coat) or dotera, sometimes put on top of each other.
