Stripes

Stripes are one of the patterns used on short-sleeved kimono throughout the Edo period, and when vertical stripes were combined with horizontal stripes, lattice patterns were created. During the first half of the Edo period, horizontal stripes and lattice patterns were primarily used, whereas around the middle of the Edo period, where slim and high-waist outfits started to be preferred, vertical stripes became popular.
