【Aprons】
Maekake (apron) used to be called maedare, and were worn by maids and teahouse waitresses as their work clothes. At the middle of the Edo period, women at tradesmen's houses started to wear them and they became popular as decorative aprons from around 1804 to 1830 (the Bunka and Bunsei eras)
