【Taking Care of Kimono】
When they dried kimono after washing, they stretched it by using either strips of bamboo or a board, the process called Araihari. That way, they could get rid of stains in the stitches and they even changed the size, replaced the inside, or added filling in. In the Edo period, cloth was very valuable and people made sure they could wear it for a long time.
